What To Expect at empowerment village.
Empowerment Village is more than a place to stay—it’s a structured, supportive housing program built around growth, dignity, and accountability. We serve single mothers ready to rebuild stability, invest in their families, and commit to long-term transformation.
This summary gives you a glimpse of what life in the program looks like. It reflects the key expectations in our Program Participant Agreement, which is reviewed in full during the application and intake process.
Our Program.
-
Shared Living with Structure
Life at Empowerment Village means living in a shared home with other single moms—each working toward stability. That comes with house rules, mutual respect, and daily responsibilities. Each participant is expected to contribute to the home’s cleanliness, follow curfews, respect quiet hours, and engage calmly with others. Staff conduct regular home checks and are available to mediate conflicts, but participants are expected to handle everyday issues maturely and directly.
-
Safety Comes First
We take safety seriously—for every woman and child on campus. Empowerment Village is a substance-free, weapon-free, and violence-free environment. Visitors are not allowed on campus except during move-in/out and special events. Participants are also required to supervise their children at all times—no exceptions. Any behavior that threatens safety may result in immediate dismissal from the program.
-
Financial Participation
This program is a shared investment. Participants pay a monthly program fee, provide a cleaning deposit, and are expected to submit regular financial documents to their advocate. A mandatory savings program is also required, helping participants build a personal safety net for the future. These contributions support the home’s operations and help participants develop long-term financial habits.
-
Weekly Commitment
This isn’t just housing—it’s a program. Every participant participates in:
● Weekly advocacy meetings with their Empowerment Team
● Weekly Wednesday night classes in parenting, wellness, and financial development (with dinner and childcare provided)
● Full-time work or school
● Regular submission of weekly schedules
Excused absences are limited and must be documented. Homeschooling is not permitted on campus, and self-employment is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
-
Goal-Driven Structure
Each participant works with staff to set and pursue goals in four key areas:
● Financial Literacy & Career Development
● Wellness & Personal Growth
● Parenting Confidence & Connection
● Educational or Employment Advancement
-
Program Timeline & Accountability
Empowerment Village is a 12–24 month program. The first 60 days are probationary, giving both staff and participants time to assess if it’s the right fit. Violations of program expectations—especially safety-related ones—can result in dismissal. We use a tiered accountability process for non-safety issues, ranging from verbal warnings to program exit, depending on the nature and repetition of the concern.
-
Important Limitations
Please understand the following about the program:
● This is not an emergency shelter
● For those escaping domestic violence, this location is not secure or confidential
● Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate pregnancy or post-surgical recovery
● Pets are not allowed

Our Heart
Empowerment Village is a safe, challenging, and hope-filled place for women ready to rebuild. We walk with each participant as they work hard to change their story—but we ask for full engagement in return. Change is not easy.. But it’s worth it.
