Preparing for Your Application
Gathering documents before you begin can help make the application process smoother and prevent delays. Mission Hope partners with individuals and families to provide access to healthy food, housing programs, and supportive resources. Documentation requirements may vary based on your household’s circumstances and the resources available at the time of application.
Please bring copies of the documents below that apply to your household:
Documents to Gather● A current photo ID for each adult in the household
● Proof of current address, such as a lease agreement, utility bill, or other official mail
● Proof of income for all adults in the household, including recent pay stubs, benefit letters, unemployment documentation, child support documentation, or other income records
● Social Security cards or Social Security documentation for everyone in the household
● Birth certificates for children in the household
● Custody, guardianship, or parenting-plan documentation, if applicable
● Proof of benefits, such as CalFresh, Medi-Cal, SSI/SSDI, VA benefits, or other assistance programs
● Recent bank statements, if requested
● Current lease or housing agreement, if applicable
● Any notices or documents related to your current living situation, if applicable
● Landlord contact information and any requested landlord paperwork, if applicable
If You Are Missing a Document
Some documents can take time to replace or request. If you do not have an item listed above, please begin the process of requesting a copy as soon as possible. For example, replacement Social Security cards, birth certificates, custody documents, benefit letters, and landlord paperwork may take longer than a few days to obtain. Gathering these items early can help you be ready when an application opportunity becomes available.
